Nexenta Supports New Intel, Xeon, E5 Server Platform

New Platform to Triple Storage Performance; NexentaStor and OpenStorage Customers Can Use Immediately

Hannover, Germany(CeBIT)—March 6, 2012—Nexenta® Systems, the world leader in OpenStorage solutions, today announced that it has been working with Intel on supporting its newly announced Intel® Xeon® E5 Server Platform, and that its ecosystems of partners can deliver value on this new product beginning immediately.

“Nexenta has been an excellent partner to work with,” said David Brown, general manager of Intel’s Enterprise Products and Systems Division. “We’re pleased that its community of partners and resellers will deliver world-class products almost immediately. This will improve storage performance across the board for end users.”

The Intel® Xeon® E5 Server Platform creates an environment that is massively scalable, eliminating the historic I/O bottlenecks of interconnects, and creating wire-speed connections between the CPU and storage media. Intel has worked closely with Nexenta to make sure that NexentaStor™ is among the first-to-market to have a certified storage software solution on top of the new platform.

“The release of the Intel® Xeon® E5 Server Platform will drastically change the performance profile for any company that uses it,” said Nexenta CEO Evan Powell. “NexentaStor, along with its core ZFS technology, is a perfect market solution that can take full advantage of this advancement, providing performance scaling that meets the demands of customers. It is available now from our network of resellers, months before legacy storage vendors.”
