Community Activities: How you can help and eWeek reviews

These days there are many thousands of commercial users of NexentaStor and tens of thousands of free users.  As I said in my last post, as long as everyone keeps telling two friends and they tell two friends we’ll continue to set records for growth.

Some have suggested it might be useful for us to share ways that you can, well, share information and best practices and reviews of NexentaStor.

1.  Blog or tweet something.

We monitor Twitter and so if you communicate with us or about us, including @nexenta in your tweet, we will pick it up and if it seems relevant to our followers we will retweet it.

For example - if you share information about how you use NexentaStor or what you’d like to see in NexentaStor we will at least see it and learn from it as will others searching on #nexenta.

2. Record a 2-5 minute video.

Please let us know if you record such a video and would like us to upload it in the Nexenta channel on you tube.  These videos can be useful ways of providing quick explanations and often create good conversations.  And who knows, it might go viral!

If you record a video that we think is worth posting we’ll get you a free gadget.  The current promo is a iPod touch.  This applies to the next 20 such videos so act quickly.

3.  Get some colleagues together to discuss OpenStorage and NexentaStor.

We’re helping to sponsor meet-ups.  We need there to be at least one customer and one partner and 25 people total.  With those ingredients in place we will help pay up to $750 to defer the costs of facilities and even libations.  One idea is to have one of these meet-ups before, during or after one of the many events at which NexentaStor is being demonstrated with partners.  Click here for the events list.

4.  Provide answers and insights and thereby improve your on-line brand!

You can participate with us in Twitter, as mentioned above.  You can also find us on Facebook and LinkedIn (beware - we are recruiting!)  In addition - please contribute to our profile on eWeek, where we are being reviewed for an audience award.  You do have to register with eWeek to give the review - but once you do this they register you as a reviewer.  Looks like eWeekLabs is now in beta as it transitions to becoming somewhat of a social network of experts.  You can see our profile here.  Please vote early and often.

We are investing more in living up to our core value of transparency.  You will soon see more Nexentians blogging and tweeting.  We want and need your feedback to keep up the progress in transforming the storage industry.

Thank you!
